POWERplus Starfish Gyro Ball - Wrist and Forearm Amplifier with LED (Battery Free)
Are you looking for an effective, engaging and... effective way to strengthen the muscles of your hand, wrist and forearm? Or maybe you need a tool to support rehabilitation after an injury or you just like gadgets based on the fascinating laws of physics? The POWERplus Starfish is a unique gyroscopic ball (often also called a "powerball") that not only is an excellent training device that generates progressive resistance, but also provides an eye-catching light show - all without the use of any batteries or external power! Accelerate the internal, precisely balanced gyroscope with the power of your own muscles and feel the increasing centrifugal force that challenges your muscles, while marveling at the colorful LED lights generated solely by energy Your move.
Strengthen Your Grip, Improve Coordination and Enjoy the Light Show - Starfish Main Features:
- Effective Strengthening Training of the Upper Limb Muscles: Regular exercises with the Starfish gyroscopic ball are an excellent way to build strength and endurance of the muscles of the hand (grip), wrist, forearm, and, with appropriate technique, also the biceps, triceps and shoulder muscles. The faster you rotate the internal gyroscope using controlled movements of your wrist, the more inertial (centrifugal) force it generates. This force is the resistance you must overcome when performing effective isometric training.
- Dynamic LED Light Show Without Batteries: There are 3 different colored LEDs inside the transparent housing of the ball. They begin to light up automatically when the internal gyroscope reaches a sufficiently high rotation speed. The faster you spin the ball, the brighter the LEDs glow, creating a visually impressive show! Most importantly, the LEDs are powered by a miniature generator (dynamo) built into the ball mechanism and driven by the rotation of the gyroscope - you don't need any batteries or charging!
- Easy and Quick Start Thanks to the Spring Mechanism: Forget about the troublesome acceleration of the gyroscope using a special string, known from older or simpler models! POWERplus Starfish has a convenient, built-in spring mechanism. Simply "wind up" the inner ball (rotor) by turning it with your thumbs about one and a half to two times in the direction indicated by the arrows on the housing, and then release. The built-in spring gives the gyroscope an initial rotational speed, which makes it much easier to start the exercise and further accelerate it with wrist movements.
- Fascinating Demonstration of the Laws of Physics in Practice: Exercises with the Starfish ball are not only an effective training, but also an extremely interesting and tangible physics lesson. It allows you to practically observe and feel the principles of operation of a gyroscope, the effect of inertia, the principle of conservation of angular momentum and the phenomenon of converting mechanical energy (rotational motion) into electrical energy (powering LED diodes).
- Compact and Portable Training Device: The small size and weight of the gyroscopic ball mean that you can take it with you virtually anywhere and exercise anywhere and anytime - at home while watching TV, during a break at work to relax your wrists, while traveling, as part of a warm-up or as a supplement to training at the gym or in sports that require a strong grip (e.g. climbing, tennis, golf).
Drag Force Generated by Starfish Depending on Rotation Speed:
Remember that the faster you spin the internal gyroscope, the more resistance (force) you have to overcome to hold the ball in your hand and control its movement. Here are the approximate values of force generated by Starfish at various rotational speeds (RPM - revolutions per minute):
- 6000 rpm ≈ force corresponding to a weight of 7.8 kg
- 8000 rpm ≈ force corresponding to a weight of 14.0 kg
- 10000 rpm ≈ force corresponding to a weight of 21.8 kg
- 12000 rpm ≈ force corresponding to a weight of 31.5 kg
Important Warnings and Safety Rules:
- Attention! This is not a toy for small children! The device is a precision training device and is intended for use by people over 12 years of age.
- People suffering from heart disease or other serious medical conditions should consult a doctor before beginning intense exercise using a gyroscopic ball.
- POWERplus Starfish is a precisely balanced mechanism. Protect the device from falls, strong impacts and shocks that may damage or unbalance it. Handle it carefully.
- Under no circumstances should you let go of the ball while it is spinning rapidly or pass it to other people - this may result in damage to the device or injury.
- Do not attempt to stop the rapidly spinning internal gyroscope with your fingers, other body parts, or any other objects. Let it slow down freely.
- Absolutely do not introduce any oil, grease, water or other liquids into the ball, as this may irreversibly damage its delicate mechanism.
- Keep the device out of the reach of small children.
How to Start Exercise Correctly with POWERplus Starfish:
- Hold the Starfish ball firmly in both hands so that you can access the internal, movable rotor (ball) with your thumbs.
- Using both thumbs, begin to rotate the inner rotor in the direction indicated by the arrows on its surface. Make about 1.5 to 2 full revolutions until you feel a noticeable resistance of the spring being stretched.
- Quickly release your thumbs - the internal spring should give the rotor its initial rotational speed.
- Immediately grasp the entire ball firmly in one hand (right- or left-handed), pointing the open part of the rotor upwards.
- Start making smooth, rhythmic, circular movements with just your wrist (try not to move your entire arm). Feel the movement of the gyroscope and adjust your wrist movements to gradually increase the speed of the internal rotor.
- When the gyroscope reaches a sufficiently high speed, you will feel the increasing resistance and force "pulling" the ball from your hand, and the built-in LEDs will start to glow effectively. Continue circular motions with your wrist to maintain or further increase the rotational speed and intensity of your workout. To finish, simply stop moving your wrist and allow the ball to decelerate freely.
