How to use and Important Notes:

  • For best charging results, place the solar panel in a place with as much direct sunlight as possible. Use the integrated stand to direct the panel surface as perpendicular to the incident sunlight as possible.
  • Connect the USB cable of the device you want to charge (e.g. phone, power bank) to the USB port located in the Gibbon charger regulator module. Charging will start automatically when there is sufficient sunlight.
  • Note on Sensitive Devices: As with other solar chargers, some more demanding devices (e.g. some smartphone models) may be sensitive to natural fluctuations in the power generated by the panel (e.g. caused by passing clouds). If you observe problems with direct charging of such a device, the most reliable way is to first charge the power bank using Gibbon, and then charge the target device from the charged power bank.
  • Protect the solar panel from strong impacts, falls from great heights, excessive bending and walking on it.
  • Regularly keep the panel surface clean by wiping it with a soft cloth to remove dust, sand or other dirt that may reduce its performance.
  • Please note that the output power of 3.5W-5W is sufficient to sustain energy or slowly charge low-power devices. Fully charging a typical smartphone may take several to several hours, depending on the capacity of its battery and sunlight conditions. Treat Gibbon as a source of energy to be recharged in the field, not as a fast network charger.
