EcoSavers Total Energy Meter with LED Pulse Sensor
Do you want to gain full and accurate control over electricity consumption in your entire house or apartment? Do you want to consciously manage your electricity expenses and identify the devices that generate the highest costs, but at the same time you value your privacy and do not want to install a "smart" remote reading meter from the energy supplier? EcoSavers Total Energy Meter is the perfect solution for you! This innovative energy monitoring system consists of a preciseoptical sensor that is easily mounted on your electricity meter (compatible with the system), and a clear, wireless LCD displaythat you can place in any convenient place in your home. Gain invaluable knowledge about your energy consumption ("Measurement = Knowledge"), identify areas for savings, control costs and take care of your privacy - all thanks to this device, easy to install and use!
Understand, Control and Save Energy Throughout Your Home - Key Features:
- Monitoring Total Home Energy Usage: Unlike plug-in meters, this system tracks total electricity usage for your entire household. On the wireless display, you can constantly monitor power consumed in real time (in Watts - W) and check total energy consumption (in Kilowatt hours - kWh) since the measurement was started or the last reset.
- Precise Reading Directly from your Energy Meter (LED Pulse Sensor): The device works on the principle of optical reading of the flashing LED, which is located on most modern (electronic) electricity meters and signals energy consumption (so-called SO pulse output). The sensor precisely counts these flashing pulses. After entering the appropriate constant of your meter into the system (the number of pulses per kWh - the "imp/kWh" value is always given on the meter's nameplate, e.g. 1000 pulse/kWh), the device accurately calculates the energy consumed. Important Compatibility Notice: The EcoSavers Total Energy Meter system is compatible only with electricity meters that have a pulse output in the form of a flashing LED. Will not work with older types of induction meters (with a rotating aluminum dial).
- Convenient, Portable Wireless LCD Display: A large and clear LCD display, powered by two standard AAA batteries (batteries are included in the set), communicates wirelessly with the sensor mounted at the meter. Thanks to this, you can place it (using the built-in stand) or hang it in any easily accessible place in the house - e.g. in the kitchen, hall or home office - to have a constant and convenient view of the current energy consumption and costs, without having to go to the meter box.
- Detailed Analysis of Costs and Estimated CO2 Emissions: Enter into the device's memory your current price for 1 kWh of electricity (the value can be found on the bill from your energy supplier) and, optionally, the average CO2 emission factor for energy production in your region (by default, the system is set to 0.44 kg CO2 / kWh, typical for Europe). From now on, the meter will automatically calculate and display the increasing cost of energy used and theestimated total carbon dioxide emissions related to your electricity consumption.
- Access to Historical Data for Better Analysis: Want to see when you use the most energy? The device saves historical consumption data, which you can easily view on the display divided into hours, days, weeks and months. Analysis of this data allows you to identify the times of day or days of the week with the highest power consumption and consciously look for opportunities to make savings.
- Alarm function for exceeding the established consumption threshold: You can set the alarm threshold for the instantaneous power (expressed in Watts) in the device. If the current energy consumption in your home exceeds the value you have set (e.g. when many energy-consuming devices are turned on at the same time), the display will inform you about it with an acoustic signal.
- Extremely Simple Installation and Configuration in a Few Minutes: Installing the optical sensor on the electricity meter housing (using one of the included mounting plates - flat or round) and the basic configuration of the device (entering the imp/kWh constant of your meter and the current price per kWh) are very simple and usually take no more than a few minutes!
- Your Privacy Is Most Important: In the era of growing popularity of remote reading meters (so-called "smart meters") installed by energy companies that monitor in detail and transmit data about your consumption profile, EcoSavers Total Energy Meter is an excellent alternative for people who value privacy. All measurement data is processed and stored only locally, in your device - no one from outside "sees" your energy habits. You have full control over your data.
Key Information Presented on the LCD Display:
- Current power consumed by the entire household (W)
- Total electricity consumption since reset (kWh)
- Total calculated cost of energy consumed (€ or other currency unit)
- Estimated total CO2 emissions (Kg)
- Historical consumption and cost data (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly)
- Current time and date
- Current system settings (imp/kWh counter constant, price per kWh, CO2 emission factor, alarm threshold)
Technical Specification:
- Principle of operation: Optical reading of light pulses (blinking LED) from a compatible electricity meter.
- Meter compatibility: Only electricity meters equipped with a pulse output in the form of a flashing LED (SO standard). The system is not compatible with older induction meters (with a rotating dial).
- Sensor-Display Communication: Wireless (radio).
- Display: Large LCD, battery-powered, with stand function and hanging option.
- Power supply for the display unit: 2 x AAA alkaline battery (LR03) (included in the set).
- Sensor: Optical, wired, with a cable approx. 1.5 meters long + additional 0.5 meter extension cable.
- Sensor installation: Using the included flat or round mounting plate (self-adhesive).
- Configurable parameters: Meter constant (imp/kWh), Price per kWh, CO2 emission factor (kg/kWh), Current time and date, High consumption alarm threshold (W).
- Data memory: Yes (stores historical data and configuration settings).
- Intended use: For use only indoors in dry rooms.
Installation and Configuration (Main Steps):
- Locate the flashing pulse LED on your electricity meter and read the pulse constant value (given in imp/kWh or Wh/imp) from its nameplate.
- Clean the counter surface around the LED. Select the appropriate mounting plate (flat or round) and stick it so that the hole in the plate is exactly above the flashing LED of the counter.
- Place the optical sensor in the hole in the mounting plate, pointing its "eye" towards the meter's LED. Connect the sensor cable (and optional extension cable).
- Insert the included AAA batteries into the display unit, paying attention to the correct polarity.
- Following the detailed user manual, enter the settings mode on the display and configure: the current time and date, the previously read impulse constant of your meter (imp/kWh), the current price for 1 kWh of electricity (from your bill) and, optionally, the CO2 emission factor and the alarm threshold.
- Place the display unit in a convenient place in your home (within the range of wireless communication with the sensor) and start consciously monitoring the energy consumption of the entire household!
