Intelligent EcoSavers Thermo Switch (Thermostat for Socket)

Does your underfloor or radiator heating circulation pump run unnecessarily around the clock, even in summer, generating additional costs and consuming energy? EcoSavers Thermo Switch is a brilliantly simple and extremely effective solution that will allow you to optimize its operation! This intelligent plug-and-play temperature switch, equipped with an external temperature sensor, automatically controls the power supply of the connected device (e.g. central heating pump, radiator, fan) depending on the temperature measured on the installation pipe or in the surroundings. Turn on devices only when you really need them and start saving real money on your electricity bills!

How does it work and what do you gain? Main Features of the EcoSavers Socket Thermostat:

  • Significant Electricity Savings: Perfect for controlling circulation pumps in central heating installations. (central heating) and domestic hot water (hot water). It prevents them from running continuously 24/7, especially during transitional or summer periods when there is no real demand for heat. It turns on the pump only when the temperature of the supply pipe reaches the threshold you set, signaling active heating.
  • Extremely Simple Operation Using the Knob: Forget about complicated menus, programmers and displays! Just set the desired temperature at which the device should turn on or off (in the range from 9°C to 60°C) using a large, convenient and clearly marked knob. The setting accuracy is approximately ±0.5°C.
  • Precise External Temperature Sensor on Cable: Accurate temperature measurement is provided by an external sensor placed at the end of a flexible cable about 3 meters long. The included special spring clip facilitates quick and stable mounting of the sensor directly on the metal pipe of the heating or cooling system.
  • Intelligent Pump Maintenance Program (Preventing Seizing): To protect the circulation pump impeller against seizing during long periods of inactivity (e.g. in summer), Thermo Switch is equipped with an intelligent maintenance function. It automatically starts the connected pump for a short while (approximately 1 minute) every 24 hours of inactivity. This function can be easily turned off if necessary using a dedicated switch.
  • Versatile Application Thanks to Two Operating Modes: A switch hidden under a small flap allows you to select the operating logic of the thermostat, extending its use beyond pump control:
    • "HEAT" mode: The socket turns on when the measured temperature rises ABOVE the set value (e.g. to control a central heating pump, cooling fan, air conditioner).
    • COOL mode (Cooling/Heating according to low temperature): The socket turns on when the measured temperature drops BELOW the set value (e.g. to control an electric heater, heating mat, anti-freeze system).
  • Clear LED Operating Status Indicators: Two LEDs on the front panel provide current information about the current operating status of the device: The green LED lights up when the socket is active and the connected device is working. The Red LED lights up when the socket is inactive (device turned off). Additionally, a separate LED indicates the activity of the pump maintenance program (if enabled).
  • Instant Plug & Play Installation: Installation and commissioning are extremely simple and do not require any tools or specialist knowledge. Just connect EcoSavers Thermo Switch to a standard power socket, connect the plug of the controlled device to it and attach the temperature sensor in the right place.

Technical Specification:

  • Supply voltage: 230V AC / 50Hz
  • Maximum socket load: 9A / 2070W (for resistive load)
  • Socket/plug type: Type F (Schuko) - with grounding, compatible with the Polish standard
  • Temperature adjustment range: 9°C to 60°C
  • Setting accuracy / temperature hysteresis: ± 0.5°C (typical)
  • Temperature sensor: External, wired (cable length approx. 3 meters), with pipe mounting clip
  • Operating modes: Turning on when the temperature increases (HEAT) / Turning on when the temperature drops (COOL) - selected with an internal switch
  • Pump maintenance program: Yes (cycle: 1 minute on/24 hours idle), deactivable
  • LED indicators: Operating status (socket active/inactive), Maintenance program active
  • Power consumption in standby mode: Less than 1 W
  • Intended use / Degree of protection: For indoor use in dry rooms (IP20)

Installation and Operation (Example for Underfloor Heating Circulation Pump):

  • Before connecting, make sure that the internal mode switch (under the flap on the back of the device) is set to the "HEAT" position (marked with a flame or heater symbol - the device will turn on when the supply pipe gets hot).
  • Connect the EcoSavers Thermo Switch to a power socket close to the circulation pump.
  • Use the knob to set the desired temperature at which the pump is to be activated (for underfloor heating it is usually in the range of 28-35°C, depending on the installation).
  • Connect the power plug of the circulation pump to the socket on the Thermo Switch.
  • Carefully attach the temperature sensor using the supplied clip directly to the metal pipe supplying the heating circuit (the pipe that becomes hot when the furnace supplies heat), as close to the distributor or heat source as possible. Make sure the sensor adheres well to the pipe surface for accurate measurement. Avoid mounting on the return (colder) pipe.
  • Turn on the main power supply to the thermostat using the ON/OFF switch located on its housing.
  • Watch the LED indicators: Green means the pump is running (because the pipe temperature has exceeded the set threshold). Red color means that the pump is turned off (because the pipe is cooler than the set threshold).
  • Decide whether you want to use the pump maintenance program (enabled by default). If not, you can turn it off with a dedicated switch.
