EcoSavers Radiator Bleeding Key on a Silicone Keychain
Do your radiators in your central heating system heat up unevenly? Does the top stay cold while the bottom stays hot? Or maybe you hear disturbing gurgling or hissing sounds? These are the most common symptoms of air in the installation, which leads not only to reduced thermal comfort, but above all to lower efficiency of the entire heating system and unnecessary waste of valuable energy! Fortunately, the solution to this problem is very simple - just bleed the radiators regularly. And thanks to theEcoSavers radiator key, placed on a practical, flexible silicone keychain, you will always have this necessary tool at hand, ready to use! This is a small, inexpensive gadget that can really help you save on heating costs and ensure optimal operation of your installation.
Save on heating and have the key always at hand - Main Features and Benefits:
- An essential tool in every home with central heating: Having a wrench for bleeding radiators is an absolute necessity in every household and in many offices and public buildings that use a water central heating system with traditional panel, ribbed or bathroom radiators equipped with standard bleeding valves.
- Increase the Efficiency and Efficiency of Your Heating System: Removing the air accumulated in radiators (which is an insulator and blocks the flow of hot water) allows hot water to freely fill the entire volume of the radiator. Thanks to this, the radiator heats up much faster and more evenly over its entire surface, which results in more effective heat transfer to the room.
- Real Energy Savings and Lower Heating Bills: A more efficient radiator means that your heating system (whether a gas boiler, oil boiler, heat pump or district heating) needs to use less energy (gas, electricity, system heat) to reach and maintain the desired temperature in the heated room. Regularly venting all radiators in your installation is one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to reduce your heating bills!
- Key Always in Its Place - No more Frantic Searching!: How many times have you found yourself looking for a small radiator key just before the heating season starts or when the radiator starts "gurgling"? Thanks to the innovative EcoSavers solution - placing a standard metal key in a flexible silicone holder with a ring - the problem disappears! You can attach it to your house keys, toolbox or hang it in an easily accessible, designated place. You'll always know where to find it whenever you need to use it!
- Solid and Durable Made for Years: The bleeder key itself is made of durable metal (probably brass or properly protected steel), which guarantees its long-term use and resistance to damage. The flexible silicone handle is not only comfortable to use, but also resistant to aging and mechanical damage.
- Standard Size Fits Most Radiators: The key has a standard, square hole (usually 5x5 mm), which is compatible with the vast majority of typical vent valves used in central heating radiators available on the European market.
How to Bleed a Radiator Correctly and Safely (Basic Steps):
- Turn off the Central Heating Circulation Pump: Before starting the bleeding, if possible, turn off the central heating circulation pump. (usually next to the heating boiler). This will stabilize the pressure in the installation and allow air to collect at the highest points of the radiators. Wait a few or a dozen or so minutes.
- Prepare a Cloth and a Small Vessel: Place a thick cloth or a small vessel (e.g. a cup) under the radiator vent valve (usually a small valve with a square stem, located at the top of the radiator, on the opposite side from the thermostatic valve).
- Unscrew the Vent Valve Slowly and Carefully: Insert the square hole of the EcoSavers wrench onto the protruding pin of the vent valve. Holding the cloth right next to the valve, slowly and carefully begin to unscrew the valve (usually by turning the wrench counterclockwise - often half a turn or less is enough) until you hear the characteristic hiss of escaping air.
- Close the Valve Immediately After Water Appears: Release the air (hiss) until a stream of water flows out of the valve evenly, without air bubbles. At this point, immediately and thoroughly close the bleed valve by turning the wrench in the opposite direction (clockwise). Tighten carefully so as not to damage the valve.
- Check the Water Pressure in the Central Heating System: After bleeding all "suspicious" radiators in the house, be sure to check the water pressure in the entire central heating system (the pressure gauge is usually located next to the heating boiler or circulation pump). If the pressure has dropped below the level recommended by the manufacturer (usually marked on the pressure gauge), top up water in the system in accordance with the operating instructions for your heating installation.
- Restart the central heating circulation pump: After completing the bleeding and, if necessary, adding water to the installation, you can restart the central heating circulation pump.
Note: The above steps are a general guide to the bleeding process. Always follow the detailed maintenance and operation recommendations for your specific central heating system contained in its manual.
